Glass Art Society’s 41st annual conference
Creative Crossroads
Seattle june 1 – 5, 2011

To contribute to the Glass Art Society’s 41st Annual Conference, we bring the “Latin Crew” to Seattle. This artist’s collective exemplifies the freshest glass exploration from contemporary artist living and working abroad.

Please come by {far4} June 2nd, from 6-9pm, for an opening celebration with the artists: Edison Zapata, Josefina Muñoz, Luisa Restrepo, Hector M Flores, and Valeria Florescano.

In addition to visiting their work at {far4}, there are multiple opportunities to learn more about them at the conference. Edison Zapata will speak about his work as an emerging artist Friday, june 3rd at the Washington State Convention Centre – 4C (3 & 4) from 3:30pm – 5:00pm. Additionally, a panel discussion entitled “Different voices for Unique Reasons (A Latin American Perspective)” will take place in the Grand ballroom D 3:30pm – 5pm on June 4th, also at the convention centre. The participants will discuss their individual process to educate themselves, find materials, and introduce their work to a larger audience. Ana Thiel will moderate with panelists Isabel de Obaldía, Ruth Moreno, Luisa Restrepo and Josefina Muñoz.
